Dell Inspiron 1100 Ethernet Port?
I always have to wiggle the cord at the PC port, or push up or down and hold it for the computer to recognize a connection, for example, right now, it’s propped up with a hard sunglass case under the plugged in ethernet cord under the computer port. Is this a port gone bad, and do I need to replace the port itself? I would first assume this were a software, or driver issue, if it never worked at all, but it does work after the wiggling.
Thanks for the replies, guys, more info on the cord itself, its good, I’ve got two laptops side by side and simply exchange the cord between the two. The other is an HP Pavilion with no connection issues..
Try a different Cable if that doesn’t resolve it there isn’t anything you can do Since the Port is actually soldered to the board it’s not replacement by cost means. There are External PCMCIA cards that work the same way.
